Minstrel Court Wedding Magic

Being a Professional Wedding Magician, I obviously attend and perform my close up wedding magic at lots of different venues, but was especially excited about performing at this particular wedding on Saturday night.

“Why?” I hear you shout…. (you did shout, didn’t you?)

Well I was booked to perform my close up magic at a lovely wedding venue called Minstrel Court in Wendy, Royston. This is a special venue to me as back in 2010 I got married at the very same venue just after it became available for wedding bookings.

Seeing everything again as it was when we were there, from the outside ‘birdcage’ where the ceremony was held to the extensive marquee that was erected bought back lots of wonderful memories.

The bride and groom were an amazing couple and their guests were equally enjoyable to perform for. I’ve got a couple of more weddings to attend and perform at later on in the year here so I’m sure I’ll be saying the same thing to you all again in a few months time!

Even after the speeches etc overran by over an hour, I stayed on until all of the guests had managed to see some of my magic. This is something that I pride myself in as I would feel awful if after booking me, a bride and groom had to report that half of their guests didn’t get to see anything! Many other magicians will book by the hour and try to cram as many weddings into their day as they can. If you book me, you get to relax knowing that if things run over, you’ll still get what you pay for!!!

East Anglia Wedding fayre magic!!!

Yesterday I was invited down to a venue in Chippenham, Cambridgeshire to perform my close up magic at a wedding fayre. The venue was a beautiful place called Chippenham park, where I had the pleasure of amazing over 300 brides and grooms.

Many people who knew I was attending in advance came over to see me in action and enquire into my availability etc. However, what I really found exciting is that those who had never even imagined having a professional wedding magician performing at their special day, were amazed at just how great an idea it is!

I can either perform for their guests during their drinks reception so that they don’t need to worry about anything whilst they are whisked off to have their photos taken. Maybe they would like me to visit their guests whilst they are sat at their tables during the wedding breakfast itself. Or maybe they would like their evening guests to see my close up magic for themselves instead of just hearing about how great everyone else found it. Whatever they wish, I’ll work with them to make it fit perfectly!!

Whichever option they (or YOU) would like, I can help fill a wedding day with amazement, give guests something to talk about and help take the pressure off of the happy couple too.

I’m looking forward to performing much more wedding fayre magic over the course of 2015, so I’ll keep you updated as to where I’ll be 🙂

Luke Clough – Member of The Magic Circle

Well I finally decided to take the plunge and apply to join The Magic Circle, the most prestigious magic club in the country, if not the world!

The first step was to have a formal interview where I was asked to demonstrate a few effects to ensure my standard was high enough, as well as talk about my passion for magic to ensure I was a serious magician.

The next step was to have a formal audition. This is held at The Magic Circle Headquarters in London and took place a few weeks ago. The interesting thing about the auditions is that anyone who is already a member and in the venue on the night can sit in on them. Being judged by 3 of the country’s top magicians can be daunting enough, let alone having another 40-50 people watching from behind them too. I’ll be honest I was slightly nervous when I was introduced, but as soon as I started it became one of the best things I’ve done. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and just wished it could have been longer!

After a few weeks I received an email which was one of the proudest moments of life….

“Congratulations, you were successful and you are now a member of The Magic circle”

. WOW! That was all I could think.. just WOW! I can now say that I and my standard of magic has been accepted as being as good as anyone else out there, and that really is something to be so proud of!

Money Magic with Cambridge Magician Luke Clough

Firstly, apologies for the lack of posts recently. December 2014 was manic and 2015 has started off pretty busy too! I promise though that I will be making much more of a conscious effort to let you know where I am, what I’m up to and treating you to some awesome magic clips too, such as the money magic clip below 🙂

One thing that I’ve always had a love for is money magic, and over the past few months I’ve noticed that whenever I asked a spectator if I could borrow a £10 or £20 note, they would more often than not say “can you turn it into a £50 note for me?” with a laugh…… so I thought to myself what would it look like if I could?

I got to work trying to fold a note in different orientations, and finally found one that when you folded a £10 note up in a certain way, when you unfolded it it would in fact be a £50 note! Check out the video below and see for yourself…

So go ahead, grad your wallet or purse, find a £10 note and try it for yourself. You’ll be amazed at the result I’m sure 😉
