✨ 10 Years Since I Became a Member of The Magic Circle
Ten years ago, I walked into a discreet building behind Euston Station in London. My hands were slightly shaking, heart racing, and if I’m being honest I was nervous as hell.
Across from me, just a few metres away, sat a panel of magicians who were about to judge my abilities as a magician, some of who were the most respected in the world. I was about to audition for The Magic Circle, the most prestigious magic society on the planet. Not only that, but auditions are also an open event, where any members within the building are allowed to spectate and observe. On that particular day, I had a further 40 magicians watching on intently.
When it comes to an audition to be accepted as a member of The Magic Circle, you only get one shot. No second chances. Just ten minutes to prove yourself. It was without exaggeration, one of the most nerve-wracking performances of my life.
Now to this day I can still remember the exact routine I performed. I remember the faces of the judges. The atmosphere in the room. It felt like I had the most critical of eyes watching my every move, whereas the reality is everyone wants you to succeed, no matter how much it seemed otherwise.
Once it was over, one of the hardest things is that you are not told your outcome on the day. You need to wait until council have met to discuss all examinees and where they then ratify the yes’s and no’s.
And I then received the call a few weeks later…….
“Congratulations. You’ve been accepted.”
That moment changed everything.
Becoming a member of The Magic Circle wasn’t just about status or recognition (although it definitely opened doors). It was a powerful validation of years of dedication, practice, and obsession with creating unforgettable experiences through magic.
And since that day? All I can say is wow…. what a ride it’s been!
Over the past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of performing at hundreds of weddings, bringing impossible and unbelievable moments to the most important day of people’s lives. There’s nothing quite like watching a bride gasp as her brand new signature jumps from her card, to now being printed on the same one that her husband signed, or the roar of laughter from guests who’ve just witnessed the impossible, up close in front of their very eyes.
From luxury corporate events in London, Switzerland, and Scotland to private parties and wedding in Portugal, I’ve taken my magic international. I’ve performed for celebrities, CEOs, and sceptics alike—and I love converting the “I don’t like magic” crowd into jaw-dropped believers.
But more than anything, what I’m proudest of is staying true to the kind of magic that connects people. My style has always been about impact, interaction, and leaving people buzzing with “how the hell did that just happen?” long after the show ends.
Being a member of The Magic Circle gave me a platform. But the real magic for me is connecting with real people, making memories and creating wonder.
Now, over a decade later, I still get that same thrill walking into an event. The same love for performing magic and being part of peoples experiences.
So, if you’re planning something special, wether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or private celebration, I’d love to bring that magic to your world too.
Here’s to the last ten incredible years… and the next ten to come.
