One of the questions I get asked all the time as a magician is: “How on earth did you know what I was thinking?” Mind reading, and revealing someone’s inner thoughts, is one of the most powerful effects in magic. It doesn’t just entertain people, it completely baffles them on a deeper level.

Why? Because when you see a card trick or watch something vanish, your brain tells you it must be a clever sleight of hand. You may not know how it was done, but you know it’s possible. But when I appear to pluck a thought directly out of your head, something personal that no one else could know, that’s when people really lose it!

I’ve seen grown adults laugh nervously, cover their mouths in shock, or literally take a step back when I reveal a thought-of word, name, or memory.  Our thoughts are supposed to be private—so when someone else seems to access them, it creates a delicious blend of wonder and discomfort all at the same time.

Now, don’t get me wrong though… I’m not in the business of genuinely invading anyone’s mind! I won’t gather your banks cards PIN number, or reveal your inner most secrets, What I do is carefully crafted performance mixed with psychology, observation, and a few secret techniques that I’ll never reveal. But the experience is what matters.

And that experience is always a cocktail of emotions: amazement, disbelief, laughter, and yes, a bit of “how is that even possible?!” I’ve had people jokingly accuse me of being a psychic, a hacker, even an alien! That’s the fun of it and what I enjoy there most….. it takes people outside of the ordinary and leaves them with a story they’ll never forget.
