Capturing Magical Moments
One of the most rewarding parts of being a wedding magician is seeing the looks on people’s faces when the impossible happens right in front of them. The laughter, the gasps, the wide eyes of disbelief, those are the REAL moments of magic. Over the last 13 years, I’ve had countless brides and grooms tell me how much they loved hearing their guests talk about the tricks afterwards, wishing they could have seen those reactions for themselves.
Now, thanks to some exciting new technology, I’ve found a way to make that happen. I’ve recently started using Meta glasses to record live reactions as I perform, and I’m thrilled about what this means for my couples.
Why POV Glasses?
As magicians, our goal isn’t just to fool people, it’s to create emotions and memories. Traditional videographers at weddings do a brilliant job of capturing the big moments: the vows, the speeches, the first dance. But what about the little in-between moments that guests remember forever? The moments when a signed card appears inside a wallet, or a ring vanishes only to reappear somewhere completely impossible, or a signature jumps form one playing card to another (see the video below!!!!!)
With Meta glasses, I can film from my own perspective, hands-free. That means I don’t have to compromise the performance, but I can still record those priceless reactions as they unfold naturally. It’s like inviting the bride and groom to step into my shoes and see what I see as the magic happens.
Creating Personalised Reaction Videos
After each wedding, I can now put together a short highlight video of the magic, focusing not just on the tricks, but more importantly on the reactions. Imagine seeing your best friend scream with laughter when her chosen card turns over in her own hands. Or watching your grandfather’s jaw drop as a coin bends right in front of him.
For brides and grooms, this is such a special extra. On your wedding day, you can’t be everywhere at once. You’ll be pulled in different directions, greeting guests, chatting, dancing, and celebrating. While I’m entertaining your family and friends, you might miss out on some of the fun in the moment. With these new videos, you’ll get to relive the best reactions afterwards, captured in the heat of the moment, with all the raw emotion intact.
Why This Matters
Weddings go by super quickly. You spend months (normally years) planning, and then suddenly the day flies past in what feels like a heartbeat. Photographs and traditional video are wonderful keepsakes, but they focus mainly on the couple. Having a reaction video adds a completely different perspective.
-
It’s personal: These are YOUR guests, YOUR closest friends and family, experiencing unforgettable moments.
-
It’s unique: No two videos are the same, because no two performances are ever the same.
-
It’s lasting: Long after the day is over, you’ll be able to watch those genuine moments of wonder again and again.
-
It’s shareable: Couples often love sharing these clips online, it’s a brilliant way to let everyone relive a little of the atmosphere
A Sneak Peek
To give you an idea of what I mean, here’s a short example from a recent wedding where I tested out the glasses. The reactions speak for themselves:
Looking Ahead
I’m really excited about offering this new addition to my wedding packages. It’s something extra for couples that goes beyond the magic tricks themselves, it’s all about giving you another way to relive the joy of your day. The magic isn’t just in the sleight of hand; it’s in the shared experience, the laughter, and the astonishment on the faces of the people you love.
If you’re planning your wedding and looking for entertainment that creates unforgettable moments, I’d love to chat with you about how I can make your day even more magical—and now, how I can help capture it too.
